Beloved Community,
Join us for a Community Luminary conversation with Argon Carrillo, 13 Moon Priest, Temple Keeper, Scent Priest, and founder of Blue Dragon Alchemy, for an intimate exploration of the ancient art of anointing and the living journey of holy oils from plant to blessing.
Across many cultures, civilizations, and spiritual traditions, holy oils have been used for millennia to bless, consecrate, initiate, prepare, heal, honor, and accompany human beings through the thresholds of life. For Argon, this ancient practice has become a path of remembrance: a way of meeting the body as temple and bringing the sacred into direct relationship with skin, breath, touch, and presence.
In this conversation, Argon will share his relationship with the intelligence of plants and the way a holy oil comes into being: from the living botanical world, through distillation and blending, into consecration and finally onto the body. In his ancient practice, holy oils are approached as liquid light, living substances carrying botanical intelligence and codes of remembrance. When consciously consecrated and entered into relationship with, they become allies in prayer, remembrance, embodiment, and transformation.
Argon often describes his complex blends as symphonies of light: many distinct plant voices gathered into a single field of intention. Each ally brings its own character, memory, fragrance, and medicine. Blending becomes an act of listening. Consecration becomes an act of relationship. Anointing becomes the moment when that living prayer meets the body.
At the heart of the gathering is self-anointing as a practice of self-blessing. Rather than waiting for blessing to come from outside ourselves, we can learn to meet the body with reverence, tenderness, and conscious touch. The simple act of placing holy oil upon the body can become a threshold into presence: a way of saying, I am here. This body is sacred. I am willing to listen.
Argon will also share how this path is expanding into a larger body of teaching through Blue Dragon Alchemy: plant alchemy, blending and distillation; practices of sacred self-anointing; Men of Heart, a journey preparing men to enter more deeply into tenderness, embodiment, and the mysteries of the Divine Feminine; and anointing at the threshold of death, where blessing, touch, scent, and presence can accompany one of life’s most profound passages.
Argon is an Ordained Priest and Temple Keeper in the 13 Moon Mystery School, a Scent Priest and teacher, and the founder of Blue Dragon Alchemy, a temple-based sacred business devoted to holy oils, ritual tools, archetypal teachings, and the art of anointing. His work brings together the intelligence of plants, prayer, scent, ceremony, and embodied remembrance in service to the sacred thresholds of human life.
During the call, participants will be invited into a simple embodied practice of self-blessing and anointing. Please have a small amount of holy oil, plain carrier oil, olive oil, or water nearby if you would like to participate. Together, we will bring conscious blessing to what is in our hands before bringing it to the body.
Before you place the holy oil upon your body, listen. Where does your body want the kiss of Spirit today?
This Community Luminary is an invitation to remember anointing not as something belonging only to the distant past, but as a living spiritual practice: intimate, embodied, ancient, and available to us now.
