Thank you for begin participating in the Maternal Gifting Economy by simply assessing what you most VALUE in life and consciously moving toward that! Thank you Letecia for freely offering your wisdom around how you have turned your whole life into a gifting process!! To move in a similar direction, Letecia asked us to get clear about what we actually need, rather than what we have been programmed by a consumer culture to think we need. And then to make the Universe and your community aware of what it is that you need. We have an aspect of our Sanctuary Facebook page that is called “I Have. I Desire”… where you can post things or skills that you have to share, and to post the things that you truly need. In order to shift the current paradigm, it would serve us to start utilizing this medium to clearly state our needs to our community, so that we can actually move into a Maternal gifting economy! Up until now, it hasn’t been used very much because we all have been programmed to “buy or get it all for and by ourselves”. So this is a very practical place to start to shift into a gifting paradigm. If anyone would feel inspired to take on the upleveling of awareness of this service in the Sanctuary, please let us know that that is a skill/service you would by joyful to offer! Darcia Narvaez – Professor Emerita of Psychology, University of Notre Dame, researches moral development and human flourishing from an interdisciplinary perspective, integrating anthropology, neuroscience, clinical, developmental and educational sciences. She grew up living around the world as a bilingual/bicultural Puerto Rican but calls the earth her home. Dr. Narvaez’s current research explores how early life experience influences wellbeing and moral character in children and adults. She has numerous publications, including more than 20 books such as Indigenous Sustainable Wisdom: First Nation Know-how for Global Flourishing; Basic Needs, Wellbeing and Morality: Fulfilling Human Potential and Embodied Morality: Protectionism, Engagement and Imagination. A recent book, Neurobiology and the Development of Human Morality: Evolution, Culture and Wisdom won national and international awards.
