OK. It is scientifically unassailable that we are at an absolutely critical tipping point on planet Earth. We are clearly sitting on the precipice of an extinction event. And you, Jeff Bezos, are sitting on the precipice of the staggering opportunity to become the biggest cultural HERO in human history! The domino effect of your single choice: valuing moving the human collective from the cliff of the 6th Extinction event, rather than choosing only the good of the one, namely Jeff Bezos. No, not that you singularly have that power, but the powerful domino effect of your single choice, would create in the world at large, a seminal difference to human survival. Imagine how your name would go down in human history as you make that choice! Amplifying what you have already offered in your remarkable gifts to Van Jones and Jose Andres. For you to actually value the gift that human life is, recognizing that ALL life is significant and that it matters…that everything in the natural world works through reciprocation of the gift that has been given to us. We all need to learn that you can’t just keep taking without giving back. That is the message the Earth is desperately and clearly delivering to us at this time. That continued choice is leading us like lemmings off the cliff into oblivion!
Instead of buying trips to space (to look for ‘where to’ after the Earth has been trashed?) or new boats the size of the Titanic (apt metaphor), how about trying something radically adaptive and new. When the early astronaut John Mitchell came back from viewing our Earth Gaia turning like a beautiful blue gem in space, he radically changed. He came back from space a mystic and devoted his entire life to service of others. The truth is, Jeff, that is what I was deeply praying for with your coming back from space.
Let’s imagine that that miracle has happened, in your coming back. What if you took on ONE project to give back to this beautiful Earth in some small measure, what you have been given? Suppose you took on, for example, the saving of the lungs of the Earth in ensuring the trees in the Amazon basin are not destroyed for more personal gain? Suppose you got the cooperation of the President of Brazil and other corporations to stop the process of the wanton rape of the Earth and horrific displacement of Indigenous peoples in the Amazon? What a model you would be setting for other multi-national corporations and world leaders. In tandem with that one project, how about becoming a SUPER HERO by setting a world standard for care of your employees? What about raises at the very least or better still, how about profit sharing with your entire staff of employees??? Now with that choice, we have the tipping point moving in a direction other than extinction. You have demonstrated to the world how powerful you are in your wealth. Now let’s show them what REAL power looks like. You hold the power to make world wide change, to be the beginning of a planetary movement toward sanity and kindness, regeneration..toward our survival as a species. You hold that much power in your hands, Jeff Bezos. Act on it. Please act on it before it is too late!
