The way the culture defines MAJESTY is: impressive stateliness, dignity or beauty. It uses words to define it like grandeur, nobility, sovereign power, inspiring awe or reverence. It is one of the 10 Hebrew Cabalistic Sephirots on the Tree of Life: Hod: Majesty/Splendor.
So what is majesty for you? How do you use the word Majesty in your own languishing.
So let’s take a closer look at some of these descriptors of majesty. What is sovereign power for example? And how is sovereign power held and demonstrated? What does it look like in demonstration? Are you for example, comfortable in your own center without relying or depending on anyone else’s opinion to define or limit your power or what you do or don’t have permission to do? Sovereignty is a feeling of inner completion, of not needing anything outside the self to feel complete or whole. A sovereign being is inner-directed, having a strong center of inner knowing from which to dance in relationship. Sovereignty is freedom of choice! It is about the balancing of male and female within you, such that you are complete unto yourself. Do you see yourself as a sovereign being?
Then let’s look at the descriptors of majesty as: grandeur, nobility. What would you be describing using words like grandeur and nobility? As you say those words, what is the feeling of the state of grandeur and nobility? In what ways are YOU noble? Expressing your grandeur or nobility?
Majesty as inspiring reverence or awe. What inspires reverence and awe in you? A mountain? A sunset? A whale? The ocean. A poem. Music? A powerful horse running full out? What is your felt, somatic experience when you are in a state of reverence or awe?
As one of the ten Sephirots on the Kabalistic Tree of Life, Hod.. describes a path of soul evolution that is contained in the words Majesty/Splendor. Imagine for a moment how you would describe a soul life that was lived out of a central organizing principle called Majesty/Splendor? What would that life be like?
Rumi lived such a life as a twelfth century mystic/poet/spiritual teacher
